Demak – Community service team, Department of Statistics, Diponegoro University carry out themed activities “Smart Digital Empowered Society” with a sub-theme, namely Strengthening Digital Literacy for MTs Students as Agents of Change in Social Welfare. The activity was held in two meetings held in February 2026 at MTs Al Asyhar Jamus, Sayangan, Jamus, Mranggen District, Demak Regency, Central Java. This activity was attended by around 50 participants consisting of students, accompanying teachers, students as the committee, and lecturers as the implementing team.
Activities were carried out in two main sessions. During the first session, participants obtained material on the importance of digital literacy, ethics in the use of social media, and the dangers of juvenile delinquency and bullying, including cyberbullying. Material is delivered interactively through discussions and case studies close to students’ daily lives.
Furthermore, during the second session, participants followed the practice and mentoring of the creation of simple campaigns related to digital ethics and anti-bullying and evaluation activities. Students are invited to understand the importance of polite, responsible communication and respect for other people in the digital space and daily social life.
Ardiana Alifatus Sa’adah, as Chair of the service team from the Department of Statistics, Diponegoro University, said that this activity aims to shape students’ ethical character and be able to use digital technology positively. “Students today are very close to digital media. “Therefore, it is important to provide education so that they can utilize technology wisely and avoid bullying behavior and juvenile delinquency,” he said.
The school welcomed the implementation of this activity because it was considered to provide benefits for students in facing the challenges of technological development and social media. Through this activity, it is hoped that MTs Al Asyhar Jamus students can become agents of change who are able to spread positive behavior, create a safe school environment, and support social welfare in the surrounding environment.
