On September 21, 2018 the ISCO 4th Grand Opening was held which marked the start of a series of competitions and conferences that were included in this fourth ISCO. 4th ISCO itself is an event to commemorate National Statistics Day and to enhance the role of statisticians in relation to SDG’s in Indonesia. ISCO is under the auspices of the Indonesian Institute of Statistics (ISI), which on this occasion was hosted in Semarang by Himasta (Statistics Student Association) of Diponegoro University, Semarang Muhammadiyah University, and the Muhammadiyah Statistics Academy in Semarang.
The series of activities are: IOS (Indonesian Olympiad Statistics), ISC (Indonesia Statistics Conference), IRC (Indonesia Research Competition), and National Seminar with the theme “Achieving SDGs in Indonesia by Optimizing the Small Area Estimation Method and Big Data Source”. 4th ISCO has a Grand Theme “Helping Indonesia to Actualize the Sustainable Development Goals Using (SDGs) Statistical Modeling”. With the holding of the fourth ISCO, it is hoped that there will be a strong bond between Indonesian statisticians and the realization of an increasing role of statistics on existing phenomena, so that they will actively participate in making Indonesia a better nation.
