The activity which took place at 10.00-12.00 WIB was attended by dozens of 6th grade students with full enthusiasm.

Suparti, M.Si., Dr. Hasbi Yasin, S.Si., M.Si., and Puspita Kartikasari, S.Si., M.Si. The lecturer team was also assisted by six students of the Undip Statistics Department in the field. This activity is part of a regular community service program funded by DIPA in addition to the 2026 Undip FSM State Budget.
Iut Tri Utami explained, this activity aims to introduce the basic concept of statistics to elementary school students in a fun and applicable way. “At the 6th grade level, students began to be introduced to simple data collection, presentation of data in tables and diagrams, to calculate averages. However, many students find this material difficult because it is rarely practiced in person. Therefore, we package it in the form of games so that children can understand more easily and do not feel burdened,” he said.
In its implementation, students are invited to take part in a series of activities ranging from pre-tests, the delivery of interactive materials about data, tables, and diagrams, to practice sessions and data games. A number of games presented include Human Bar Chart or human bar diagrams, Data Bingo to train data interpretation, Yuk Hemat Pasar which combines statistics with frugal living education, as well as average guessing games and data recording relays. The series of activities was closed with a post-test to measure the improvement of student understanding.
The Principal of SD Negeri Pudakpayung 01 welcomed the activity and hoped that the collaboration with Undip could continue. The school assesses that the learning while playing approach can increase students’ interest in lessons related to numbers and data, while supporting the strengthening of numeracy skills according to the Independent Curriculum.
Through this activity, the Undip Statistics lecturer team hopes that the students of SD Negeri Pudakpayung 01 will not only understand the concept of basic statistics, but also get used to thinking logically, analytically, and critically in processing information in daily life, including in choosing healthy food and managing pocket money wisely.
